Vault interpretation
Interlude Black Iris keeps Interlude Man's central tension between aromatic disorder and dark resin, but redirects the experience toward balance. Oregano and rosemary are toned down, violet leaf adds a cooler lift, and orris introduces buttery powder that smooths the incense, myrrh, and leather. Woods emerge sooner, so the flanker feels more polished and wearable while remaining smoky, dense, and unmistakably Interlude in spirit.
Vault interpretation
Negrin reworked his own composition instead of extending it. The aromatic top was pulled back, rosemary reduced and oregano dropped, and orris root pushed forward, where its cool powdered texture sits across the incense-leather-oud base and files down the edges. The citrus was rebalanced so it no longer competes with the iris. What had been raw and confrontational became richer and creamier: the same DNA, but dressed for formal rooms rather than daring you to endure it.
