How it develops
It opens on a poached-pear sweetness cut almost immediately by hazelnut and a thread of frankincense smoke, so the fruit never settles into candy. Within the first hour saffron sharpens the edges and rose opens beneath it, with jasmine sambac and osmanthus lending an apricot-skin softness that keeps the florals from turning stiff. The drydown gathers everything into sandalwood and akigalawood, where vanilla, ambergris and labdanum thicken it into something warm, resinous and slow.
