How it develops
It opens hot and bright at once: bergamot and grapefruit cut immediately by fresh ginger and black pepper, so the citrus arrives already spiced rather than sweet. Petitgrain and neroli take over through the middle, green and bitter-floral, holding the spice aloft and keeping the whole thing from tipping warm too early, while Timut pepper adds its own grapefruit-tinged prickle. Then the base turns resinous — akigalawood peppery and dry, labdanum and benzoin pooling into a soft ambery leather.
