How it develops

The opening is the whole reason the original became famous: pineapple and blackcurrant arriving juicy and slightly caramelized, sharpened by bergamot, lemon and a crack of pink pepper. Within twenty minutes the fruit stops being sweet and starts being smoky, as birch pushes up through it with a dry, almost charred edge. Jasmine and patchouli hold the middle together, and the long finish is musk, oakmoss and cedar — clean woods with soot still clinging to them.
