How it develops
The opening is almost edible: raspberry and lychee arriving jammy and bright, with saffron immediately underneath giving the fruit a metallic, slightly medicinal glint that stops it turning candied. Frankincense and Turkish rose take over within the hour, adding a dry smoke and a velvety floral weight that pull the fruit toward something ceremonial. From there it descends steadily into oud and leather, with patchouli, sandalwood and amber thickening the finish into a dark, syrupy resin that lasts most of a day.
