How it develops
The opening is bright but never simple: lemon and bergamot arrive already dusted with cardamom, coriander and Sichuan pepper, elemi lending a resinous edge that hints at where this is heading. The citrus burns off quickly and a floral middle takes over, geranium and rose sharpened by cinnamon while patchouli begins pulling everything downward. The last long stretch belongs to the base, where oud, frankincense and birch smoke lie over vanilla, benzoin and cacao, the sweetness keeping the resins from turning austere.
