Fragrance structure
How it develops
The opening is dry smoke before it is anything else: palo santo and incense arriving already lit, sharpened by black pepper and the green snap of violet leaf. There is no citrus overture and no soft landing. Within the first hour cade oil and labdanum push forward, adding a tarry, leathery weight that stops the smoke from drifting off. Papyrus and a trace of rose thread the middle, and the base settles into resin, ebony and guaiac.
