Fragrance structure

How it develops

It opens airy and faintly fruity, ambrette seed and a soft naseberry sweetness that reads pear-like on skin, more light than juice. The middle turns powdery: magnolia and violet bloom quietly against an early creaminess of sandalwood, never sharpening into a floral bouquet. From there it recedes rather than builds, cedarwood, musks and vetiver drawing everything close to the body, the fruit and flowers dissolving into a clean, warm woody haze that sits just above skin.

Praise

Praised for soft, clean, sophisticated, intimate aura. ALT reviews frequently praise recognizability and similarity to Mojave Ghost.

Criticism

Common criticism is weak projection/longevity or overly light floral-water character. Some dislike the opening as screechy, deodorant-like, or not desert-like enough.

Comparison notes

ALT describes a pear-like opening, while official Byredo uses ambrette and naseberry; Fragrantica uses sapodilla and ambrette. Official base lists cedarwood, musks, and vetiver; Fragrantica lists ambergris, cedar, and musk.
