The parent opened on cognac and cinnamon with almost nothing in front of it, so the sweetness arrived immediately and stayed. On The Rocks slides a full citrus battery — grapefruit, lemon, bergamot, bitter orange — and a burst of aldehydes ahead of the booze, which pushes the praline and vanilla richness back and thins the syrup. Myrrh and cashmere wood replace some of the caramel weight in the base, redirecting a cold-weather indulgence into something that works in mild air.
